Volunteers are needed for a shoreline cleanup in Canada's Prettiest Town.
The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation is spearheading Saturday's cleanup.
Officials with the centre say the clean-up will start at two areas: Goderich's Main Beach, and the base of the Menesetung Bridge.
Last year, nearly 1,100 pounds of trash was cleared from the Lake Huron shore and Maitland River.
Among the garbage they picked up were over 4,700 cigarette butts, far outpacing the 1,600 pieces of microplastics they found.
Two dehumidifiers and a deep fryer were also collected.
Saturday's shoreline cleanup runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Goderich.
