You could be eligible for some cash, if your Huron County property needs a septic upgrade.
The Huron Clean Water Project (HCWP) is allocating $40 thousand to residents looking to upgrade their septic systems.
A maximum of $2 thousand will be available for each project.
Officials say systems with the potential to contaminate drinking water, and those near municipal drinking water wells are the main focus.
Property owners in the countryside and hamlets, as well as those with homes and cottages along Lake Huron are eligible to apply.
People interested in applying are invited to call Doug Hocking at Maitland Valley Conservation (519-335-3557, extension 236) or Kate Monk at Ausable Bayfield Conservation (519-235-2610, extension 227).
The application deadline is May 31st.
