Officials with the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) will be at the Blyth constituency office of Huron-Bruce Progressive Conservative MPP and Education Minister Lisa Thompson.
The Avon Maitland branch of ETFO will be holding a media conference Thursday, to discuss the reported loss of 34 elementary teaching positions in the board.
ETFO President Kent Cleland says, "The 34 job losses announced today by the Avon Maitland District School Board are devastating, and I am working directly with our members during this difficult time.”
"The Ford government has slashed education funding and students within the Minister of Education’s own riding are paying the price."'
Thursday's conference will be the second time in three weeks teachers have gathered outside the Education Minister's Blyth constituency office.
On April 26th, demonstrators demanded answers to rising class sizes, and cuts in education funding.
Cleland will be making additional comments during a media conference at 2:00 p.m. outside Thompson's Blyth constituency office.
