No wiggle room: OPP

Orillia | by Bayshore News Staff
Police patrolling waterways on first warm weekend of the season.

The OPP is preparing for another boating season in cottage country and there could be a spike in waterway traffic as we get the first toasty weekend of 2019.  Sgt Dave Moffatt is the co-ordinator of the OPP Marine Program and he says when it comes to booze on your cruise or life jackets on board for everyone,  there is no wiggle room.
Violators get a ticket, no exceptions. He also notes
the same rules regarding cannabis in the vehicle also apply to vessels.
The OPP has already investigated two boating-related fatalities this year and there were 23 in all of 2018.
