A Vanastra man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Corey Volland entered the plea Thursday in a Goderich court related to the death of Laura Wigelsworth.

On May 8th of 2018 authorities say her body was found along Front Rd. and two days later they announced they had a suspect in custody.

Through submissions in court it was revealed Wigelsworth, Volland's fiance at the time, was strangled following a fight over his cocaine use.

Volland said in his plea that he never meant to kill her.

He said he drove her body around the town before dumping her body and telling the kids that she never came back from her walk.

Volland also told police there was an intruder when they began questioning him in 2018.

He has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
