"Panty Drive" Kicking Off Across Huron County

Feminine Hygiene products to be collected for school-aged girls across Huron between November 8-22.

Feminine hygiene products are being collected for girls in schools across Huron County.

The Huron County chapter of Women's March Canada has organized the "Panty Drive," and spokesperson Alisha Shilbe says the need is great along Ontario's West Coast.

Shilbe tells Country 104.9 News school-aged girls often do not have access to menstrual products, which can cause hygiene issues and interfere with a proper learning environment.

Several stores across Huron County will be accepting feminine hygiene products between November 8th and 22nd.

Those include Cait's Cafe and Wuerth's Shoes (Goderich), and Shopbike Coffee (Bayfield).

During the upcoming Ladies' Night Out in Goderich (November 14), Wuerth's Shoes will also provide entry to a giveaway for those who donate feminine hygiene products.

Schilbe says more stores are expected to sign up as drop-off locations, and updates can be found on the organization's Facebook page.
