"Sun Grown by 7-Acres."
That's what roughly 19,000 licensed medical marijuana patients in Canada will see when they buy their medical grade pot from Canada's leading licensed producer, Aurora Cannabis Incorporated.
Tiverton-based 7-Acres has just completed its first sale of medical marijuana to the Calgary-area based company.
President and CEO, John Fowler, couldn't be more pleased with the deal.
"It's a milestone day for Supreme (Pharmaceuticals Inc.) and for 7-Acres out in Kincardine to finally be shipping our first wholesale lots of medical cannabis to a great retailer like Aurora," Fowler tells Bayshore Broadcasting News.
Aurora is one of the biggest retailers in the country so that means all of their patients will have access to Tiverton-based 7-Acres' product.
With the recent announcement by the Ontario Provincial Government to sell medical grade pot in LCBO stores beginning in 2018, Fowler says that plan fits their blueprint.
"A nod from the government that essentially Canada's largest market being the Province of Ontario, is going to have government retail, is for us, very complimentary of our strategies," notes Fowler.
The sale of medical marijuana between 7-Acres and Aurora is expected to be done by the end of September 2017.
