Kincardine Hospital will experience a short power outage today to connect the facility's new generator.
South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) says the outage should only last an hour as the hook-up is completed as part of the infrastructure renewal project at Kincardine Hospital.
Power to the building will be completely shut-down at 1 p.m. Essential equipment will continue to run on generators.
SBGHC is asking patients to not present to the hospital during the outage, unless it's a critical emergency.
The Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Services are closed today as the hospital is observing Remembrance Day.
SBGHC president and CEO Paul Rosebush says there are only a few more hurdles to clear as the end of Kincardine Hospital's infrastructure renewal project nears.
"We greatly appreciate the patience of our community, and our staff, as we have worked to update the aging infrastructure in this building to ensure that we will be able to continue to deliver high quality health care in Kincardine for years to come," Rosebush says.
Replace of the Kincardine Hospital's boiler system, chiller and generators are expected to be complete by December 2017.
