A new business operation is officially under way in a familiar setting in Goderich.
Watson’s Home Hardware held its Grand Opening on Friday at the site formerly occupied by Machan’s Home Hardware on Bayfield Road.
The business is owned and operated by Richard and Norm Watson who also own Gorrie Home Hardware east of Wingham.
Richard Watson tells Bayshore Broadcasting News they took advantage of the chance to expand to Goderich because of family ties in town.
He says a number of Goderich residents also visit the Gorrie outlet which contains a building centre.
Watson looks forward to being part of the rebuilding process in Goderich following last year’s tornado.
He believes local business is on the rebound and now is the time to expand despite the slow economy.
