Special investigators have been called in after a woman was pulled from the waters of Lake Huron, south of Bayfield.
OPP say they were called to the shoreline just before 6 PM on Sunday, to reports a woman was nearly a hundred feet from the shore.
According to officials, the Canadian and U-S Coast Guard, and area fire departments were dispatched for search an rescue, and the 32 year old woman was found and taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit has now invoked it’s mandate, and OPP is not able to provide further information.
This is the fourth death in Lake Huron this year, after a Goderich boy drowned in the waters off Kincardine’s pier in August, and drownings were reported at the Pinery Pronvicial Park and near the Saugeen First Nation during the summer.
