One of the mayoral candidates in the pcoming Kincardine municipal election was recently arrested on charges of assault.
Members of the South Bruce OPP were called to a Kingsway Street address in Kincardine at approximately 2:30pm on Tuesday, September 18th in response to a disturbance.
OPP officers investigated and discovered that an altercation had taken place between a landlord and a tenant. Following their investigation police arrested the male landlord.
64-year-old Ron Stephens will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.
When asked about the incident at Kincardine's all candidates meeting Wednesday night, Stephens refused to comment.
Incumbent Mayor Anne Eadie also refused to comment on her opponent's run-in with the law.
