The province has announced funding for Huron County municipalities in 2022, in the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF).
More than $10 million has been announced for the county’s nine municipalities, as well as the County of Huron.
Receiving the most for the area’s municipalities is the Town of Goderich, with over $1.5 million.
That is followed by South Huron ($1.4 million), and Central Huron ($1.3 million).
The program primarily supports northern and rural municipalities across the province. Its objectives are to: recognize the challenges of northern and rural municipalities, while targeting funding to those with more challenging fiscal circumstances; support areas with limited property assessment; and assist municipalities that are adjusting to year-over-year funding changes.
