Young Canada Week returns to Goderich for the 72nd time.
Action kicks off Friday for the week-long minor hockey tournament, with games running through March 18th.
Town officials will be on hand for the official opening at 7:00 p.m. Friday night, recognizing four NHL alumni born in Goderich: Larry Jeffrey, Gary Doak, Jack Price and Al Dewsbury.
Also on display will be several hockey trophies, including:
- Frank J. Selke Trophy (Best Defensive Forward)
- Presidents’ Trophy (Best Overall Record)
- Conn Smythe Trophy (Most Valuable Playoff Player)
- Clarence S. Campbell Bowl (W. Conference Playoff Champion)
- William M. Jennings Trophy (Best Goaltender With Fewest Goals Against)
Town officials invite the public to observe the free tournament, and take a photo with hockey’s top trophies March 10th to the 18th at Goderich’s Maitland Recreation Centre.
