Huron County Council has approved the tender for the rehabilitation of Fitch’s Bridge.
The contract will be awarded to VanDriel Excavating for $1,216,867.
$300,000 of that expense is funded by the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund.
The project is aimed at replacing the expansion joints, as well as patching concrete in key areas.
The bridge, which is on County Road 7 just east of Powell Line, was constructed in 1957, and during the most recent inspection in 2022, it was found that the bridge was in fair condition, but repairs were needed.
