Goderich Council got to see concept drawings for a potential redesign of town square.
The proposal is connected with a needed update of the infrastructure below downtown, as existing components for water and wastewater is around a hundred years old.
Representatives from BM Ross provided council with potential design options, which considered walkability, pedestrian safety, and parking.
The proposed plan was developed after consultations with retailers and residents.
BM Ross also provided pricing options, and including underground infrastructure and a renovation at street level, the work would cost anywhere between $7,340,000 and $9,210,000.
Council has directed staff to bring back a financial strategy on how the project will be funded.
