Goderich is celebrating the return of a military aircraft, six decades after its first arrival.
On June 14th, 1964, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) flew retired Lancaster FM213 to Goderich, where it was displayed as a war memorial by the Royal Canadian Legion.
The plane would later be installed as a display at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, before taking to the skies again in 1988.
Now, the iconic Lancaster is set to return to the Goderich Regional Airport, sixty years after its inaugural visit.
On June 14th, 2024 at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Lancaster will be welcomed back to Goderich, before departing the following day.
