Goderich Council has chosen to be a part of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative.
A Notice of Motion was presented to council during this week’s meeting.
In the resolutions for the motion, the Town of Goderich and Mayor Trevor Bazinet have pledged to work with the GLSLCI’s other members to ensure that the action plan for 2025-2035 would be supported.
The action plan includes a transformation for the uses of the Great Lakes-St Lawrence River Basin.
That includes the way business is conducted for industry, energy creation, and transportation.
The initiative includes members from 244 regions and municipalities.
The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River Basin forms the largest freshwater ecosystem in the world, and provides drinking water to more than 40 million people.
It also serves as the foundation of our communities’ economic prosperity.
