Huron County’s Paramedic Services are promoting a program to help paramedics deliver care during an emergency.
The “Cool Aid” program is a card containing critical health information, including drug prescriptions, dosages, known allergies, medical history, and emergency contact phone numbers.
That information can then be put on your refrigerator using a magnet on the back cover, which paramedics have been trained to look for in a home emergency.
The name “Cool Aid” serves as a reminder that the card should be placed on the fridge.
Huron County Paramedic Services urges all residents with pre-existing medical conditions or those taking prescription medications to fill out and display these cards.
The cards are available at all pharmacies operating in Huron County and can also be obtained from most family health teams.
