Needs are increasing for Alzheimer’s disease supports in Huron and Perth counties.
The Alzheimer Society Huron Perth is hosting their “Walk For Alzheimer’s” this weekend in communities across Huron County.
Communications and Volunteers Manager with the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth, Erin Dale, says she has seen more locals requiring their services.
“We are certainly seeing an increase in people reaching out,” Dale tells Country 104.9 News.
“The earlier you reach out is better, because you are able to help with support throughout the entire journey.”
Funds raised from Saturday’s Walk For Alzheimer’s will help support programs from the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth that do not receive government funding.
“Some of those are our social recreation programs,” Dale says.
“For instance, our Minds In Motion… our Holistic Health. Those programs bring people with the disease together with their care partner, and they can do something fun that is going to help their well-being.”
The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s runs Saturday, May 24th in Clinton, Exeter, Goderich, and Wingham.
