If you are a Huron County landowner, and are fighting invasive plants, you could get some funding to help.
The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority says they are scaling up efforts to fight the country’s worst invasive plant: phragmites.
That includes funding to property owners in Huron County for part of the effort to fight the invasive plant.
The ABCA is also working with fifteen partners in the effort, including municipalities, landowners, conservation organizations, and volunteer groups.
Their project aims to control Phragmites on more than 1,700 km of roads, map an additional 1,200 km to prepare for future management, and target 12 new sites for treatment.
If you would like to manage invasive Phragmites on your property, contact ABCA at 519-235-2610 or toll-free 1-888-286-2610 or email stewardship staff at abca.ca through this page.
