The United Way Huron Perth shared an update with Goderich Town council on Monday afternoon.
Ryan Erb, the executive director for the United Way Perth Huron, shared successes for the programming that the organization supports.
He said that they wanted council to understand that the work of the United Way aligns with the fact that they are the largest founder of social services after the federal government.
“The Canadian Mental Health Association, operating through the Heart To Home Program, [which is] the bridge program that is now helping people experiencing homeless in your community and around the area,” shared Erb, “We can let you know that 55 people from the Town of Goderich were helped through that programming last year.”
Erb also shared that Huron Turning Point, which is based in Exeter, had served 11 people from Goderich last year.
The United Way is a supporter of the Huron County Food Distribution Centre, which helped 139 people in 2024.
