A program recognizing newcomers to Huron County is returning for a second year.
County officials are accepting nominations for the “I Am Huron” campaign, celebrating the positive impact immigrants make in Huron County and highlighting their contributions to the community.
“The I Am Huron campaign celebrates the ways that immigrants and newcomers to Canada enrich our culture in a meaningful way. We want to highlight how immigrants make a positive impact in Huron County’s communities,” says Pam Somers, co-chair of Huron County’s Immigration Partnership.
Seven residents were recognized in the 2025 edition of the program, from Goderich, Exeter, Clinton, and Wingham, and included business owners, and educators.
Nominations are open until May 15th, 2026, and you can find the link to the nomination form here.
A subcommittee will review nominations based on contributions to the community, business and economic impact, and cultural or artistic contributions.
