Charges against four people in eight Festive RIDE lanes across Perth County come as a disappointment to the area’s OPP detachment commander.
Inspector Rob Scott says the four chose to endanger other members of the community by choosing to drink and drive, despite intense promotion of the RIDE program by OPP and Stratford Police.
A Bluewater man, a motorist from Huron East, and drivers from St. Marys and Niagara Falls were each charged with drunk driving-related offences in the first weekend of the Festive RIDE program.
Inspector Scott reminds us that if you plan to drink at a party, to arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi, or use public transit where available.
