A man has drowned in Lake Huron at Pinery Provincial Park in Grand Bend.
Lambton OPP, EMS, and Fire services responded to a call about a swimmer in distress at around 1:30 this afternoon. (Sept. 3rd)
While emergency responders were on their way, bystanders pulled the man from the water and performed CPR until EMS arrived.
Police say despite all efforts, Lambton EMS could not revive the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name is not being released until his family is notified.
Police are investigating the man’s death and ask anyone with information to contact the OPP.
At least five people have drowned in Grey, Bruce, Lambton and Simcoe counties this summer.
Last month, 16 year old Lucas Johnson of Goderich died after being pulled out by a rip current along Kincardine’s Station Beach.
Kincardine council has now called for a safety audit for it’s main beach.
23-year old Garrett Lewis of Aurora also drowned in Lake Huron near Saugeen First Nation last month.
