This week’s Country 104.9 “Local Hero” is Kendall Strome.
Their nominator, Leah says: If Angels walk among us, I know one, and her name is Kendall. She has been my daughter, Sophia’s respite worker since 2014. She is so much more than that. She is a big sister, a mentor, a friend, and an example of all things wonderful for her.
She even includes Sophia in her own important family events and milestones, she has her over for fun sleepovers, and puts so much thought into Sophia’s feelings.
Kendall practises kindness wherever possible, volunteers when she can, has a super positive attitude and is the best role model I could ever have wished for Sophia.
This community, and Kendall, are the best gifts I have ever given my child, and Kendall’s gift is having built a bridge of love to connect and understand the exceptionalities of Sophia’s Autism.
She is Sophia’s Local Hero, and mine too.
