The Town of Goderich has officially changed the way waste will be collected.
The new service will include bi-weekly solid waste and weekly organics collection, beginning Monday.
The Town of Goderich and Waste Management distributed around 8 thousand new carts to eligible households and businesses.
Each eligible household will get one cart for waste and one for organics.
The Bluewater Recycling Association is providing carts to each household.
The cost is $150 annually which will be added to each property owner’s tax bill as a special charge. It will be prorated to $50 for 2024 to reflect the September 23rd implementation.
Those who rent a single family home should be provided carts through their landlord.
All carts must be at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. on your schedule collection day. Carts must be taken back in from the curb no later than 11:59 p.m. on your scheduled collection day, whether collection occurred or not.
