Huron County Council is looking for direction from the Western Ontario Wardens Caucus on how to approach the idea of public transit in the county.
The motion is meant to address the disparity between transit in the Greater Toronto Area compared to regional transit systems in southwestern Ontario through enhanced and stable provincial support.
Council wants to establish a Regional Rural Transit Authority who will plan and fund inter-community transit for counties and rural areas in the region.
County council will defer the undertaking of a Transit Feasibility Study until after the WOWC holds their general meeting on June 27th.
