If you want to know more about homeless in Huron County, three information sessions are coming up in Goderich.
The United Way of Perth-Huron will be hosting information seminars February 4th, 11th, and 18th at the Goderich Legion to give residents a better understanding of local homelessness, along with supports.
The first session on February 4th examines the purpose behind the Coldest Nights of the Year fundraiser, and how funds raised support local programs addressing hurt, hunger and homelessness.
In the February 11th talk, the United Way will help people learn about the complexity of homelessness, evidence-based outcomes and the importance of housing as the first solution.
The third and final session on February 18th spotlights two community supports that play a vital role for residents in crisis or on low incomes: 211 and free tax clinics.
The United Way’s “Coldest Night of the Year” fundraising walk runs February 28th, with walks in Goderich, Wingham, and Exeter.
