In the height of respiratory virus season, hospitals in Huron County are offering a safe way to show patients you care.
The Alexandra Marine & General Hospital in Goderich, and the South Huron Hospital and Exeter are encouraging visitors to use a free e-card service.
After filling out the online form, the e-cards are printed and delivered directly to patients, offering a safe and meaningful way to show care when an in-person visit is not appropriate.
“With several respiratory viruses circulating at the same time, we need to stay vigilant,” said Jimmy Trieu, President and CEO at Huron Health System.
“Even as some indicators improve, we are not out of the woods yet. Protecting our communities remains our top priority.”
While influenza A levels have started to decrease, COVID-19, RSV, and pneumonia activity remains stable.
RSV and pneumonia typically remain more active during the winter months and begin to taper off around March, though circulation can continue into April.
