Two individuals are facing charges following a large-scale drug seizure in the Municipality of Central Huron.
The investigation was led by the Ontario Provincial Police Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit. Officers were led to a rural property on Base Line, where a search warrant was executed on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Police say more than 4,000 cannabis plants were seized, along with large quantities of marijuana in various stages of production. The estimated street value of the illegal drugs is more than $2.15 million.
Multiple OPP units assisted with the operation, including the Wellington Community Street Crimes Unit, West Region Emergency Response Team, West Region K-9, the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team, and members of the Huron OPP detachment.
As a result of the investigation, two individuals — one from Central Huron and one from Waterloo — have been charged in connection with what police describe as a highly organized and complex cannabis grow operation.
The accused are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
